This series uses plain striped ‘shimaishi’ stone, from which iron has not been removed, as the base material. Iron removed from other ‘shimaishi’ stones is then mixed into the surface glaze to create a pattern, forging a new purpose for iron that was originally destined to be discarded.The product may be rough to the touch, especially at the edges, due to the large grains of iron powder mixed into the glaze.

<Chips of foot ring>
Small dents or chips may occur after shaving the base. If the product still stands upright and can be used normally, these are classed as a normal.

<Crinkling, Clay Stains>
Due to the nature of the material, crinkling and clay stains may occur in unglazed areas. These are not caused after firing, but during the molding process. There may be gaps between the clay parts which may look like cracks. Please rest assured that this does not indicate any problem with the strength of the product and there is no risk of damage.

<Surface Flaws>
The product may exhibit minor flaws that occur during kiln firing and shipping. Black uses a soft, dark glaze, so this may be more noticeable, but please understand that this is a natural phenomenon caused by the manufacturing process.
